Sweet Heart Winery Announces Tesoro Tasting Room in Historic Old Town Fort Collins

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — October 3, 2025 — Sweet Heart Winery, Northern Colorado’s award-winning winery and fastest-growing wine club in America, has announced the opening of Tesoro by Sweet Heart Wine, a new tasting room located in the heart of historic Old Town Fort Collins.

The announcement was made by Charles Oster, CEO of Sweet Heart Brands, during a private wine club event at the winery’s flagship location on West Highway 34, which featured a special performance by the Fort Collins Symphony.

Tesoro, meaning “treasure” or “sweetheart” in the love languages, is designed as an intimate tasting room experience offering Sweet Heart’s nationally acclaimed wines, award-winning hard ciders, and a rotating seasonal tapas menu. The space was previously occupied by The Reserve, operated by Old Elk Distillery, which vacated following its acquisition by an out-of-state company.

“This is truly a homecoming for us,” said Rob Larson, Partner and Head of Business Development at Sweet Heart Winery. “Our team grew up here in Fort Collins—we went to Fort Collins High, Rocky Mountain High, and Colorado State University. Now we get to bring back something that is uniquely local, something created here in Northern Colorado and meant to be enjoyed right here in Old Town.”

Sweet Heart Winery has earned recognition as a Top 10 Winery in the United States by The Scout Guide’s national editorial team, as well as multiple regional and local awards. While fruit is sourced from some of the most coveted vineyards in California, many of Sweet Heart wines are crushed, fermented, aged, and bottled in Northern Colorado. The winery’s philosophy is simple: Selected in California, Perfected in Colorado.

“Our wines and ciders are crafted here with the goal of creating experiences for people to connect,” Oster said. “Tesoro will give guests a chance to do that in a vibrant, historic setting with the charm of Old Town Fort Collins.”

Tesoro will open first with exclusive preview events for Wine Club members, offering them a first look at the new space and its offerings. Following these events, Tesoro will gradually open to the public with a limited menu, eventually expanding its seasonal tapas program. Wine Club benefits, including discounts and exclusive access to limited releases, will fully extend to Sweet Heart Wine Club members and guests.
