Sweet Heart Brands Acquires Blue Mountain Vineyards’ Signature Wines and Winemaking Assets
Loveland, CO — June 13, 2025 — Sweet Heart Brands, one of the fastest-growing wine and cider companies in the United States, proudly announces the acquisition of Blue Mountain Vineyards’ remaining wine inventory, winemaking equipment, and two beloved Colorado-grown labels: Christie’s Blend and Harvest Gold.
This acquisition strengthens Sweet Heart’s rapidly growing portfolio while reinforcing its commitment to excellence and innovation. As Sweet Heart dramatically expands its production footprint at The Forge, a new state-of-the-art winemaking and cider facility in Loveland, the integration of Blue Mountain’s small-lot production capabilities will support increased demand without compromising quality.
Charles Oster with Bill and Christie Prewit
“Bill Prewitt’s career and contributions to Colorado winemaking are nothing short of remarkable,” said Charles Oster, CEO of Sweet Heart Brands. “It’s an honor to steward the Blue Mountain legacy forward while continuing to focus on what we do best—crafting exceptional wines that bring people together.”
Founded in Berthoud, Colorado, Blue Mountain Vineyards developed a devoted following for its high-quality, handcrafted wines. Among its most popular offerings are Christie’s Blend, a port-style dessert wine, and Harvest Gold, a peach-infused, fortified dessert wine. These wines will now be offered under the Sweet Heart portfolio while supplies last and will continue to be produced in limited quantities using Colorado-grown fruit.
At the same time, Sweet Heart’s core winemaking identity remains unchanged. Known for its signature approach—“Selected in California, Perfected in Colorado”—Sweet Heart Wine will continue sourcing premium fruit from renowned California AVAs (American Viticulture Area) to produce the wines customers know and love.

“We want to be absolutely clear,” said Oster. “Sweet Heart’s lineup isn’t changing. Our award-winning California-based wines are here to stay. This acquisition allows us to offer Blue Mountain’s beloved inventory to our customers while continuing to produce select dessert wines that celebrate Colorado’s unique agricultural character.”
Adding a personal touch to the transition, Blue Mountain’s founder shared his support for the move:
“As most of our wonderful friends at Blue Mountain Vineyards know, Christie and I have retired,” said Bill Prewitt. “Sweet Heart has been so gracious in making our remaining stock available for purchase at their wonderful winery, especially Christie’s Blend, which will be available for years to come. Charles, his family, and their team are some nice people and they have such a beautiful setting. I would highly recommend stopping by there or spending a day at Sweet Heart Winery.”
As one of the fastest-growing wine clubs in the nation, Sweet Heart will feature Blue Mountain vintages in upcoming club shipments, giving members exclusive access to these storied Colorado wines. The acquisition also aligns perfectly with Sweet Heart’s aggressive expansion in the beverage space, which now includes a thriving portfolio of hard ciders under the Sweetheart Cider, Patriot Press, Black Bear, and Climb Hard brands.
Charles Oster and Bill Prewit discuss winemaking and shared agricultural roots in South Dakota.
“This deal is a major leap forward,” said Rob Larson, Partner and Head of Business Development at Sweet Heart Brands. “Not only are we expanding our production capabilities, but we’re also strengthening our emotional connection to customers by bringing two treasured Colorado wine brands into the Sweet Heart family. It’s the perfect balance of operational synergy and authentic storytelling.”
Blue Mountain’s winemaking equipment, known for its small-batch precision, will be integrated into Sweet Heart’s Loveland operations to enhance versatility and support boutique-style production—especially for limited releases and fortified wines.
“We’re proud to welcome Blue Mountain customers to Sweet Heart,” added Oster. “Your favorite wines have found a new home, and we’re just getting started.”
