SWEET HEART WINERY NAMED #1 WINERY IN COLORADO BY WineryAtlas
Loveland destination earns top ranking among more than 200 Colorado wineries and compares among the nation’s leading winery experiences
LOVELAND, CO — September 2026 — Sweet Heart Winery has been named the No. 1 Winery in Colorado for 2026 by WineryAtlas, a national winery discovery and data platform tracking nearly 15,000 wineries, vineyards and tasting rooms across the United States.
WineryAtlas evaluated all 206 Colorado wineries in its database, ranking Sweet Heart Winery in Loveland No. 1 based on verified services and amenities, posted hours, accessibility and working contact information.
The recognition places Sweet Heart ahead of wineries throughout Colorado’s established wine regions and reinforces the Loveland winery’s growing reputation as one of the state’s premier wine and hospitality destinations.
“This recognition means a great deal to our entire team because it reflects so much more than what is in the glass,” said Charles Oster, CEO of Sweet Heart Brands. “We have always believed that a great winery should be about the entire experience — exceptional wine, genuine hospitality, beautiful surroundings, food, events and, most importantly, creating a place where people want to spend time together. To be ranked No. 1 among hundreds of wineries across Colorado is an incredible honor.”
A DATA-DRIVEN NATIONAL WINERY PLATFORM
WineryAtlas maintains a database of 14,691 wineries across the United States, providing consumers with a resource for discovering wineries, vineyards and tasting rooms by location and experience.
Unlike traditional wine competitions that judge individual wines, WineryAtlas evaluates the overall winery experience and accessibility. Its 2026 rankings award points for verified services including wine tastings, tours, food service, outdoor seating, private events and dog-friendly accommodations, along with posted operating hours and working contact information.
The rankings are not pay-to-play and are recalculated as WineryAtlas updates its underlying data.
Sweet Heart Winery earned recognition across five major experience categories:
Wine Tastings • Winery Tours • Food • Outdoor Seating • Private Events
That combination places Sweet Heart among a relatively select group nationally.
COMPETING WITH AMERICA’S GREAT WINERY DESTINATIONS
While WineryAtlas does not currently publish a single national ranking of all 14,691 wineries, comparing Sweet Heart’s verified experience profile with leading wineries in other states demonstrates how competitive the Loveland destination has become nationally.
Sweet Heart’s combination of tastings, tours, food, outdoor seating and private events closely mirrors the experience profiles of wineries appearing at the top of WineryAtlas rankings in some of America’s most established wine regions.
In California, for example, WineryAtlas evaluated 5,470 wineries for its 2026 ranking. Its highest-ranked wineries share many of the same experience attributes credited to Sweet Heart in Colorado.
“We are incredibly proud to be a Colorado winery,” stated Rob Larson, partner at Sweet Heart Brands, who heads operations for customer locations for the company. “But our aspirations have never been limited by geography. We want to build one of the great wine and hospitality brands in America, and recognition like this is another indication that what our team is building in Northern Colorado can stand alongside great winery experiences anywhere in the country.”
SELECTED IN CALIFORNIA. PERFECTED IN COLORADO.
Sweet Heart’s Colorado identity is complemented by a sourcing philosophy that takes its winemaking team directly to some of America’s most respected wine-growing regions.
The majority of Sweet Heart wines begin with grapes sourced from California and Oregon, where members of the Sweet Heart team travel to visit vineyards, evaluate growing regions and select fruit that fits the style and quality of wines they want to produce in Colorado.
Sweet Heart currently sources from an expansive collection of acclaimed wine regions, including Napa Valley, Sonoma, Lodi, Yolo County, the Santa Cruz Mountains, Paso Robles and Monterey in California, as well as Oregon’s Willamette Valley, among others.
It is a philosophy Sweet Heart summarizes simply:
“Selected in California. Perfected in Colorado.”
“We don’t believe great Colorado winemaking requires us to limit ourselves geographically when it comes to sourcing,” Oster said. “We go where exceptional grapes grow. We visit these regions, develop relationships, select fruit we believe in and then bring that fruit home to Colorado. This is where our team takes over — fermentation, blending, aging and ultimately creating wines that are distinctly Sweet Heart.”
The approach allows Sweet Heart to combine access to some of the country’s premier wine-growing regions with a distinctly Colorado winemaking and hospitality experience.
Sweet Heart is also continuing to explore Colorado-grown fruit. Later this year, the winery plans to release a new Colorado dessert wine, produced from Colorado fruit and adding another expression of the state’s emerging wine industry to the Sweet Heart portfolio.
“For us, being a Colorado winery is about where we make our wine, where our people are, where we have built our company and where we create these experiences every day,” Oster said. “We’re proud to bring exceptional fruit from places like Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles and Willamette home to Colorado and put our signature on it.”
MORE THAN A WINERY
Located along U.S. Highway 34 at the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, Sweet Heart Winery has evolved into a destination centered on wine, hospitality and connection.
Its Loveland flagship combines winemaking and tastings with food, expansive outdoor spaces, private events, weddings, live experiences and one of Colorado’s rapidly growing wine club communities.
That approach reflects Sweet Heart’s mission:
“Create experiences for people to connect.”
“What makes me proudest isn’t simply being No. 1,” Oster added. “It’s why we’re being recognized. We have intentionally built Sweet Heart around the idea that wine brings people together. Whether someone comes here for a glass of wine, a first date, an anniversary, a wedding or just an afternoon with friends, we want them to leave feeling like their time here mattered.”
Sweet Heart continues to expand its presence across Northern Colorado while maintaining its Loveland winery as the flagship of the growing Sweet Heart brand.
The WineryAtlas recognition follows continued growth and recognition for Sweet Heart as the company expands its wine, cider, hospitality and experiential businesses.
